Israel Bombs Al-Soussi Tower, Completely Destroying One of Gaza’s Largest Residential Buildings Displacing Hundreds of Civilians.

People in Gaza City search through the ruins of the Soussi Tower after it was destroyed by an Israeli airstrike on September 6, 2025

Gaza City, GazaIsraeli warplanes have completely demolished the 15-story Al-Soussi Tower, one of Gaza’s largest residential high-rises. The strike reduced the building to rubble within seconds, leaving hundreds of families homeless and marking another chapter in Israel’s relentless campaign against Gaza’s civilian population.

Residents were given only minutes to evacuate. Witnesses described scenes of panic as children, women, and the elderly scrambled to escape. In a display widely criticized as callous, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz shared a video of the destruction online, captioning it simply: “We continue.

For Gazans, Al-Soussi Tower is not an isolated target but part of a systematic assault. High-rise buildings have repeatedly been struck under the pretext of targeting Hamas, while civilians bear the brunt, living under 17 years of siege and blockade. Human rights groups have condemned the strike as collective punishment, a violation of international humanitarian law, and a blatant disregard for human life.

Destroying a residential tower in a densely populated area offers little military advantage but inflicts enormous human suffering. Families already displaced by prior bombings now face repeated loss of shelter and security, their lives reduced to rubble and trauma.

The attacks send a clear message: Israel is not only targeting resistance groups but the very fabric of civilian life. Erasing landmarks like Al-Soussi Tower aims to break the spirit of Gaza’s trapped population, disregarding the devastating humanitarian and moral consequences. In Islam, targeting innocents, depriving families of safety, and weaponizing starvation are strictly forbidden.

As Al-Soussi Tower lies in ruins, it stands as a symbol of Gaza’s suffering. Katz’s declaration, “we continue,” signals that civilian displacement, destruction, and despair are likely to intensify, leaving Gaza’s population trapped in an unending cycle of terror and hardship.
