Amid intense diplomatic maneuvering and reports of an impending security agreement between the United States and Iran, the Israeli occupation has explicitly rejected any plans to withdraw its forces from Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, or the northern West Bank.

In a public statement, War Minister Israel Katz declared that the military will permanently maintain its presence in what he described as designated “security zones” across multiple regional fronts. Katz framed the refusal to pull back as a direct “lesson” from past security failures, asserting that the Israeli occupation must keep troops stationed from the mountains of Lebanon and the Syrian front to the interior of Gaza and refugee camps in the northern West Bank to confront active regional resistance forces.

The hardline declaration comes at a critical juncture, as international mediators indicate that Washington and Tehran are close to finalizing a text aimed at broad regional de-escalation. Though the broader negotiations seek an end to hostilities on all fronts including Lebanon, the Israeli occupation has signaled that it does not consider itself bound by the parameters being discussed.

Beyond refusing military concessions on the ground, Minister Katz outlined aggressive expectations for U.S. President Donald Trump regarding ongoing talks with Tehran. The Israeli occupation explicitly demands that the Trump administration utilize the negotiations to force Iran into dismantling its long-range missile programs and completely severing financial and military support for its regional allies and resistance networks.

While Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet stated that it shares a baseline goal with Washington regarding Iran’s nuclear capabilities, Katz emphasized that the Israeli occupation expects the U.S. to rigidly enforce these additional restrictions on missiles and regional proxy groups.

Furthermore, the War Minister warned that the Israeli occupation retains the absolute mandate to act completely independently against its adversaries, regardless of any bilateral agreements reached between Western powers and Iran. According to Katz, instructions have already been issued to military command to prepare for unilateral operations if the outcome of the U.S. diplomatic track fails to satisfy the security demands of the occupation.

The uncompromising stance is expected to heighten friction with international bodies and regional stakeholders, who argue that the Israeli occupation’s insistence on permanent territorial control and ongoing military presence will systematically undermine any potential for a lasting regional ceasefire.
