Military tensions between Kabul and Islamabad escalate into direct kinetic confrontation today as Afghan forces launch a series of retaliatory strikes along the shared border.

The offensive comes in direct response to recent Pakistani airstrikes within Afghan territory, signaling a sharp breakdown in regional security.

Heavy exchanges of fire are reported across multiple sectors of the Durand Line. Afghan authorities confirm that their forces are actively engaging Pakistani military installations to “defend territorial integrity.

Afghan units claim to have successfully neutralized several Pakistani outposts in the border regions.

Local reports indicate significant troop movements on both sides of the border as commanders reinforce frontline positions.

The current violence is the most severe escalation between the two neighbors in recent years. While Pakistan maintains its strikes were aimed at militant hideouts, Afghanistan asserts that the actions violated international law and resulted in civilian casualties.

The flare-up is causing immediate distress for local populations residing near the border.

Families in the line of fire are reportedly fleeing toward safer interior zones.

While official numbers are fluctuating, both sides report casualties among combatants, with concerns mounting over the safety of nearby villages.

The situation remains fluid as both nations exchange rhetoric alongside artillery fire. International observers are calling for an immediate de-escalation to prevent a wider regional conflict
