U.S. Vice President JD Vance has said that the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein appeared to have connections to the highest levels of both American and Israeli intelligence during a podcast interview with Joe Rogan. Vance also acknowledged that the Trump administration “absolutely screwed up” its handling of the release of Epstein-related files, saying the poor communication created confusion and damaged public trust. However, he did not present evidence to support his claims regarding intelligence ties.

The Epstein case has remained one of the most controversial criminal investigations in recent U.S. history. Epstein was arrested in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges involving underage girls but died in jail before standing trial. His relationships with wealthy and influential figures, along with longstanding speculation about possible intelligence connections, have fueled public debate for years. No official investigation has concluded that Epstein worked for any intelligence agency.

During the interview, Vance claimed Epstein had connections to senior figures in American and Israeli intelligence, while also admitting the Trump administration “absolutely screwed up” its handling of the Epstein files.

The remarks could have diplomatic and political implications because they touch on sensitive issues involving intelligence agencies and U.S.-Israel relations. Domestically, Vance’s admission regarding the Epstein files may increase pressure on the administration to release additional documents and provide greater transparency about the investigation.

The case continues to raise concerns over accountability for victims of sex trafficking and public confidence in the justice system. Victims’ advocates have long argued that all individuals involved in Epstein’s criminal activities should be thoroughly investigated and held accountable under the law.

The interview prompted widespread discussion across U.S. media and political circles. Supporters of greater transparency welcomed Vance’s acknowledgment that the administration mishandled the release of the files, while critics questioned his intelligence-related claims because they were not accompanied by supporting evidence. Israeli officials have previously rejected allegations that Epstein worked for Israeli intelligence.

While Vance’s remarks have renewed debate over Epstein’s alleged intelligence links, no new official evidence has been released to substantiate those claims.
