The United Nations has accused Israel of blocking more than 100 humanitarian aid requests into Gaza since the ceasefire began, warning that vital relief efforts remain “severely restricted” despite the truce.

According to Deputy UN Spokesperson Farhan Haq, Israeli authorities denied 107 requests to deliver essential supplies, including blankets, winter clothing, and materials for water and sanitation. Nearly 90 percent of the requests came from local and international NGOs.

More than half of these were rejected because the organizations were deemed unauthorized to deliver aid,” Haq told reporters at UN Headquarters in New York.

The UN says Israel has also classified several humanitarian items such as solar panels, generators, and vehicle parts as “dual-use materials,” preventing their entry despite urgent civilian needs.

Haq warned that the restrictions are hindering the UN’s 60-day humanitarian plan for Gaza, adding, “We can do much more when the remaining impediments are lifted.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported continued military activity in parts of Gaza, including building demolitions in eastern Khan Younis, Gaza City, and Rafah.

Meanwhile, movement across the enclave remains unstable. Over 680,000 displaced Palestinians have returned to northern Gaza, but many remain stranded in the south due to widespread destruction and insecurity.

Despite the blockade, the UN and partner agencies have managed to deliver food, cash, and medical aid to thousands of families. However, officials warn that Gaza’s humanitarian crisis is deepening as winter approaches and essential aid remains trapped at the borders.
