Iranian hackers group known as “Handala” has accessed the phone of former Israeli military chief Herzi Halevi, exposing sensitive images and videos. Among the most notable claims is the existence of material showing meetings between Israeli military leadership and officials in countries such as Jordan and Qatar, drawing attention to previously undisclosed or low-profile regional contacts.

‎The leaks show that Israeli military officials have engaged in quiet or indirect coordination with regional actors. For example, reports have confirmed that Israeli military leadership has participated in meetings with Arab counterparts, including Jordanian officials, under broader security frameworks involving the United States.

‎The images and videos could offer a rare glimpse into the nature and scope of these interactions, particularly those that occur outside formal diplomatic channels. Meetings involving Qatar are especially sensitive given Doha’s role as a mediator in regional conflicts and its complex relationship with both Israel and Palestinian factions. Previous reports have also suggested that Israeli security officials have traveled to Qatar for discussions related to Gaza and broader regional dynamics.

‎The potential exposure of such engagements raises questions about transparency and the balance between public political positions and behind-the-scenes coordination. Several Arab governments publicly maintain strong positions on regional conflicts, yet security cooperation especially under US-led frameworks has continued in more discreet settings.

‎The exposure of such engagements has intensified debate across the region, especially at a time when public sentiment in many Muslim societies remains deeply affected by the ongoing situation in Gaza. Critics argue that any undisclosed coordination raises serious ethical and political questions, particularly when public positions often differ from behind-the-scenes interactions.

‎Even so, the focus on  meetings with Jordanian and Qatari figures highlights a broader reality of Middle Eastern geopolitics: despite public tensions, channels of communication and coordination often remain active beneath the surface, these leaks reinforce ongoing scrutiny over the gap between official rhetoric and regional security interactions.
