The Israeli occupation’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that its campaign against Iran is “not yet finished,” while openly stating that Israeli occupation institutions are working to overthrow the Iranian government. Netanyahu made the remarks in an interview with i24NEWS, saying that his objective remains to bring down the Iranian regime.
Netanyahu said that Israeli occupation pilots could return to Iranian airspace at any moment and indicated that the military campaign should not be considered complete. He described the Iranian government as being under severe pressure and said the Israeli occupation would continue working toward its defeat.The declaration goes beyond the stated objective of targeting Iran’s military capabilities, as Netanyahu explicitly linked the campaign to regime change. He said that “all of our systems” under his direction were working to bring down the Iranian government, making the overthrow of the regime a clearly stated political and strategic objective.
The comments come amid renewed tensions between Iran, the United States and the Israeli occupation. Israeli occupation officials have continued issuing warnings of further military action, while Washington has also indicated that it remains prepared for additional strikes against Iran. The renewed confrontation has raised fears of another major escalation across West Asia.
The pursuit of regime change carries significant strategic implications for the region. Any attempt to overthrow Iran’s government through continued military pressure could expand the confrontation beyond direct Israeli occupation-Iran hostilities, potentially involving regional allies, resistance movements and U.S. military positions across West Asia.
For Iran, Netanyahu’s statement represents an explicit declaration that the Israeli occupation’s objectives extend beyond military containment. The prospect of continued strikes aimed at weakening the Iranian state could further increase pressure on civilian infrastructure, economic stability and regional security while making diplomatic de-escalation more difficult.
