A 2020 FBI document based on reporting from a confidential human source (CHS) alleges that Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted child sex trafficker, maintained close ties with former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak and was involved in intelligence-related activity connected to Israel’s Mossad. The document suggests Epstein was not operating solely as an individual criminal, but as part of a broader intelligence-linked network centered on access, leverage, and kompromat.

‎The document, dated 19 October 2020, draws on accounts from a source with direct contact inside Epstein’s circle. According to the source, Epstein had been trained for intelligence work and functioned in coordination with Mossad, reinforcing long-standing allegations that his extraordinary access to politicians, academics, and business elites was systematic rather than coincidental.

‎Central to the account are repeated phone conversations between Epstein and his lawyer, Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz. The CHS stated that following these calls, Mossad would contact Dershowitz to conduct debriefings. The source said they took notes during these interactions and concluded that the pattern reflected a coordinated intelligence operation rather than informal or incidental contact. Dershowitz was also quoted as saying he would have joined Mossad if he were younger, with the source believing he had been “co-opted” and aligned with its mission.

‎If borne out, these findings point to a grave moral and political failure by Israel’s intelligence establishment. The use of a convicted sex trafficker as an intelligence asset would represent a stark contradiction to Israel’s repeated claims of championing women’s rights, rule of law, and democratic values. Employing or protecting an individual accused of systematically abusing minors for leverage and blackmail undermines those assertions entirely, exposing a willingness to sacrifice fundamental human rights in pursuit of strategic advantage. Such allegations, tied directly to Mossad-linked handling, raise serious questions about accountability, ethics, and the normalization of exploitation within state power structures.

‎Beyond geopolitics, the implications for Epstein’s victims are severe. The allegations suggest that acts of abuse may have intersected with intelligence objectives, further compounding the gravity of the crimes. While Israeli authorities have not formally addressed these claims, the FBI document represents one of the clearest recorded assertions placing Epstein within an organised foreign intelligence framework rather than portraying him as a lone criminal actor.

Whether further disclosures or investigations follow remains uncertain. What is clear is that these allegations challenge long-standing narratives, placing renewed scrutiny on intelligence agencies, political elites, and the systems that allowed a convicted trafficker to operate for years with apparent protection and impunity.
