Pakistan’s Palestine Action Coalition to Join Global Sumud Flotilla from Tunisia in Historic Breakthrough for Gaza.

Pakistani Delegation meets head of the Malaysian flotilla 'Nadir Alnuri' at the flag off ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Palestine Action Coalition, a unified platform of all major proPalestinian organizations in Pakistan including the Blockout Movement, Pak Palestine Forum, Youth Link Pakistan, and others has formally launched Pakistan’s first-ever delegation to participate in the Global Sumud Flotilla, an unprecedented international mission to break the naval blockade of Gaza.

This marks a historic turning point for Pakistan: for decades, the country has expressed political and diplomatic solidarity with Palestine, but this is the first time Pakistan has translated its words into direct action by joining a civilian flotilla alongside 44 countries.

The delegation was first honored in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim hosted a massive flag-off ceremony and officially handed over the Sumud Nusantara banner to international delegations. The Pakistani representatives have since returned home and are now preparing to fly to Tunisia in early September, where they will join thousands of activists and board the flotilla that will sail across the Mediterranean toward Gaza.

Leaders of the Palestine Action Coalition have described this as nothing less than a “historic breakthrough.” Unlike previous gestures limited to statements or rallies, this initiative was born out of a united coalition the first time in Pakistan’s history that all pro-Palestinian groups have come together under one banner to take practical, global-level action.
The launch of this delegation is not about individuals it is about a people’s coalition that has decided enough is enough,” said members of the coalition. “This is Pakistan’s civil society stepping onto the global stage of resistance, shoulder to shoulder with the world, to confront Israel’s siege of Gaza.”

The Global Sumud Flotilla is a nonviolent, civilian-led effort to challenge Israel’s naval blockade and deliver desperately needed humanitarian aid to Gaza, where famine and catastrophic shortages of food, fuel, and medicine have reached unprecedented levels.
Led under Malaysia’s Sumud Nusantara banner, the campaign has already mobilized solidarity convoys and rallies across Asia, Europe, and North Africa. In Kuala Lumpur, over 2,000 participants and 1,000 vehicles joined a land convoy culminating in a rally where Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim called the flotilla a “mission of conscience” and pledged Malaysia’s unwavering support for Gaza.

For Pakistan, the coalition-launched delegation signals a new phase of solidarity: a move from verbal condemnation of Israeli aggression to practical, physical participation in international resistance. Civil society organizations have emphasized that Pakistan’s presence in this flotilla is a people’s mandate, not just a state position, and that it cements the country’s role in global civil society efforts to end the siege.

The Blockout Movement, which has mobilized across Pakistan against companies complicit in Israeli apartheid, has played a leading role in pushing for this collective step. Its inclusion within the Palestine Action Coalition demonstrates how grassroots activism inside Pakistan has now transformed into international action.

As the Pakistani delegation prepares to fly to Tunisia in the coming days, anticipation is rising across activist networks worldwide. Once in Tunisia, they will join participants from across Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America in one of the boldest solidarity efforts in recent memory.

This is more than a journey by sea. It is a declaration that Pakistan’s civil society is no longer content with words alone it is ready to sail with the world to Gaza, carrying the hopes of millions who demand an end to the siege and justice for Palestine.
