Five children martyred in an attack on school by separatist group in Pakistan's Balochistan province.

A school bus attacked by Baloch separatists in Khuzdar, Balochistan.

A devastating attack on a school bus in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district has claimed the lives of five children. The incident occurred when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (IED) targeted the bus carrying students from the Army Public School (APS). The explosion resulted in multiple injuries, with several children in critical condition. Authorities have confirmed the transfer of the deceased and injured to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

The Ministry of Interior has strongly condemned the attack, labeling it “sheer barbarism” and vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice. The government has promised financial assistance to the families of the victims. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have also condemned the attack, expressing solidarity with the families affected.

This incident highlights the growing concern over separatist violence in Balochistan, where groups like the Baloch Liberation Army have been active. The region has experienced a surge in militant activities, targeting security forces and civilians. The attack on the APS school bus is a grim reminder of the vulnerability of civilians, particularly children, in conflict zones.

The nation continues to mourn the loss of young lives, echoing the sentiments expressed during the anniversary of the 2014 APS Peshawar attack, which claimed the lives of 132 students and 17 staff members. The government’s efforts to eradicate terrorism and ensure the safety of civilians, especially children, remain a pressing concern .
