Gaza City – The Gaza Center for Human Rights has confirmed that Israeli forces committed at least 36 violations of the Gaza ceasefire since it took effect on October 10, resulting in the deaths of seven Palestinian civilians and injuries to several others. The report highlights that these violations, carried out through aerial and artillery bombardments as well as live fire, reflect a continued campaign of aggression and intimidation despite the declared truce.
According to the Center, the attacks were concentrated in the eastern and northern regions of the Gaza Strip, with Israeli drones targeting residents returning to inspect their destroyed homes in Shujaiya, killing five people on the spot. Additional strikes in Khan Yunis, Jabalia, and Rafah caused further casualties and destruction. Investigators stated that none of these attacks were tied to military operations, describing them as deliberate efforts to sustain fear, displace civilians, and obstruct recovery.
The violations extend beyond airstrikes. Israel continues to exercise tight control over humanitarian aid, allowing only 173 aid trucks out of 1,800 expected to enter Gaza in recent days. This restriction has left hospitals without vital medical supplies and families without food or clean water. Human rights experts have described these actions as a continuation of starvation tactics a form of collective punishment in direct violation of international humanitarian law. The Gaza Center called the ongoing blockade a systematic policy to break civilian resilience rather than ensure security.
The international response remains muted, with Western governments, including the United States and the United Kingdom, maintaining support for Israel despite mounting evidence of war crimes. Both nations have continued military and financial cooperation, framing Israel’s actions as self-defense while ignoring the overwhelming civilian toll. This double standard erodes the credibility of international law and exposes a deep moral inconsistency at the heart of global politics, where accountability depends on allegiance rather than evidence.
Regionally, Arab governments have remained largely silent or cautious, prioritizing diplomatic relations and trade over confronting the humanitarian crisis. Analysts argue that this silence amounts to complicity, as regional stability is being pursued at the expense of justice and human life. The lack of unified pressure from neighboring states has effectively allowed Israel to operate with impunity, normalizing violations that would elsewhere be condemned as war crimes.
As of now, the ceasefire exists largely on paper. Gaza’s civilians continue to live under constant threat, struggling to rebuild amid power shortages, limited aid, and ongoing strikes. The Gaza Center has urged the international community to impose accountability measures, investigate war crimes, and compel Israel to honor the ceasefire in both spirit and practice. Without decisive action, it warned, these violations will not only continue but deepen the precedent that impunity outweighs justice in the modern world.
